DID YOU KNOW...
The 29th Infantry Division achieved fame in Normandy, France on D-Day 1944 as it assaulted bloody Omaha Beach and led the way for victory in Europe (depicted in the acclaimed opening battle scene in Saving Private Ryan).
Today, it is the only light infantry division in the entire reserve components. Its headquarters is at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
